The Beginning

On a sunny day like this is as good as any to share my story. I live in a bachelorette flat with my pet, in Highgrove, not too far from the park. Oh, that's my pet over there, Cait...Cait O'Hegarty. I'm the one with the wet nose over here, actually, I'm Zoe, terrier/pug mix. How do you do!

Now my breed is a rather useful one, as I was bred from American terriers in the 1920's (born & bred here) who were contracted by farmers to protect their barns from sly little devils like rats & the like. In modern times though farmers have used other methods to protect their interests and our hunting services were no longer needed. However, a few pets decided to keep continuing my breed's genetic line and thus you have great dogs like myself, who are quite healthy all in all.

I'm not exactly sure how to describe to you what type of breed my pet Cait is, but I would have to say hers is a noble breed, especially given her heritage. What I know is that her ancestry goes to Lady Mary Boleyn, her 18th maternal great grandmother & the sister of Queen Anne Boleyn. This also makes her a direct 1st cousin to Queen Elizabeth I of England. Throw in some French, Irish, Portuguese, German, even more English & Welsh, Polish, Danish, & Russian royal kings & queens, and you have quite a family history there. And that's just on her mum's side.

For now though let's just call Cait a mixed noble breed, as so many of the best pets nowadays are. She's a writer, of sorts, and wrote a children's book apparently, a few published poems, and a travel article on the beautiful sights of Italy. I can tell that my pet enjoys that line of work, as many times I lay on my floor pillow with the sun streaking through the blinds and I fall asleep to the tranquil clicking of her computer keys. I wish my pet could make a living at that, but even those of royal blood have to find a job that pays for living expenses, even if it's not exactly what they would prefer to be doing.

My pet Cait works very hard each day to care for my needs & give me a good life and I wish to do the same for her. Now, she's cute as humans go, but wicked smart & funny too. She's also thoughtful & contemplative. *sighs* As much as I enjoy being a bachelorette with her, I don't see why my pet hasn't yet found a good mate.
